Quick-bite Asian spots, food courts and asian fast-food counters are built for speed: order at the counter, pay up front, and food usually comes out within a few minutes. Combo meals with a main, a side and a drink are common and generally the best value. Food courts and food halls group several counters under one roof and let you mix orders from different vendors at shared seating, which is useful for groups with different cravings. Noodle shops and dumpling counters often sell by the dozen or by weight rather than as fixed plates, so check the board before ordering. Most of these spots take cards and mobile pay, and tipping is optional at counter service, though a jar for the staff is common.

State College is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around State College is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is light years away from what it use to be back when I went there. (1994-1999). The food used to be top quality and extensive. Back when they used traffic lights to determine heathy foods. It used to be a smaller version of Shady Maple. Pollock appears to be the old Findlay. Trays not allowed now. Have to leave the dining hall to even get rid of your dishes.

This is a great place if you are a freshman, especially living in East and looking to meet more people. However, there are better commons like West, South, or Pollock. Also, it could feel a bit overwhelming when from a different residence area and really weird once you aren’t a freshman. It is still a good overall commons though!

The service is pretty good. however I have to say that the food is not delicious at all. Do dumplings not origin; bok choy is cooked not tasty……besides there’s a little option in the summer and I feel a little bit disappointed to be honest.

They offer Halal food some days of the week. Wanted to try, they have a few items in their buffet menu. It was okay, but too expensive.

The East Dining hall is pretty good food wise. However, the freshmen don’t know how to form lines so it takes forever to get food. One amazing thing about this dining hall is its food allergy station called “pure.” This station is available everyday and serves meal options that are dairy free, nut free, vegan, etc. If you do decide to eat here make sure you come for brunch on the weekends!! This meal is one of the best! Also, within the East Dining commons there are various order to go food stands such as salad, subs, pizza, “chef’s table,” poke bowls, and açaí bowls. The bowls are by far one of my favorite food options on campus! On the main floor of the commons there is a fast food place called “Flipp’s” which serves decent greasy food. Their breakfast items are pretty affordable and filling. There is also a convenience store that constantly has new items coming in. Be careful though because the f’real milkshake machine is always broken...
